Print Triptych (Xerox transfer on gampi), each 30" x 40"
This series started with cutting, incising, and etching over 200 copper plates. The plates were individually inked, registered and printed on single sheets of paper in a series of 13 unique 21-plate etchings. Ghost prints were taken of the ink residue left by the plates, and each original print was not flattened to preserve the unique embossing on the reverse side of the paper. After each of the prints had been completed, they were each repeatedly photocopied at different levels of exposure. The photocopies were then cut and using a pressure/chemical transfer process, they were transferred onto a fine, semi-transparent, handmade gampi paper. The final piece is a triptych, and each panel is approximately 30″ x 40.″
